We were invited by senior elders to support women explore enterprise as a health and wellbeing strategy…

In 2015 we were invited by the Tramulla Strong Women’s Group of Kalumburu to support the group to use enterprise as vehicle for economic and social change in their community. The Kwini elders in Kalumburu wanted address health and well-being in Kalumburu by keeping culture strong, and to enable community members to participate in the economy. Co founders Clare Wood and Susannah Wallman then partnered with the women’s group on an initial series of enterprise workshops in 2016 under the auspice of Enterprise Learning Projects and in 2018 Enterprise Partnerships WA was founded.

EPWA has developed a strong methodology and framework and have achieved success in activating entrepreneurship in both Kalumburu and Balgo. Our work in Kalumburu has been made possible via our strong partnerships with Kalumburu leaders, the Tramulla Strong Women’s Group, the Kalumburu Aboriginal Corporation and other external partners. We are excited to explore new partnerships with other remote communities to share our model and learnings, and foster a strong ecosystem of support for First nation-led businesses across WA.
